The feature that is causing the exception is disabled by default on any system but still attempts to launch some code at server startup. Therefore the fact that it fails does not affect the system anyhow.
With the fix the failing code is not being launched at all when the relevant feature is disabled.
If the feature is enabled the the code will not fail with the fix.
I'm vague about the feature in question as we have no intention that someone will attempt to enable it.
Therefore if you have a version that is earlier and does not contain the fix, you will see the exception in the traces but you can ignore it. We do not have any intention to provide it in earlier versions.
