With the KM Navigation iView, a complete KM folder is displayed. The KM Navigation iView allows you to execute collaboration functions for these documents and links. The BEx Portfolio is a special graphical display of the KM Navigation iView.

You can generate a KM Navigation iView with the Portal Content Studio. KM Navigation iViews have the code link com.sap.km.cm.navigation.

The two most important properties are Path to Initially Displayed Folder and Path to Root Folder for Navigation:

· The Path to Initially Displayed Folder defines which KM folder is displayed first when calling the iViews.

· Using the Path to Root Folder for Navigation, you can restrict the user navigation.

If the two properties are identical, the user can only navigate in deeper folders. The higher folders in the hierarchy remain hidden.

A path refers to a folder in Knowledge Management. You can view the folder using Content Administration ® KM Content. The appropriate authorizations are necessary to display the folders.

You can include the folders with a user’s personal documents using an alias. When the alias is used, an iView is enough to display the personal documents for various users in a personalized form.

Examples with Alias

Personal folders for the user: /alias/userhome/<user.id>

Folders with favorites: /alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites

Folders with BEx documents: /alias/BIuserhome/<user.id>/Personal BEx Documents

The folder with the BEx documents is located at /BIuserhome and not under the general folder /userhome.

The management of authorizations for KM folders, documents and links is done using access control lists (ACL). For more information, see Authorizations for the Integration with the Portal.
