Hi,

Check this out,

Symptom

Objects in merge dimension are grayed out unless the report is saved.

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 SP02 Patch 14

  Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a report with two similar queries.
  2. Apply merge dimension on it.
  3. When one object is selected in the merged dimension, the other objects are grayed out.
  4. Save the report.
  5. Select one object.
  6. After saving the report the other objects are not grayed out.

Resolution

This issue is not observed in BI 4.0 SP04.

Those Objects might be coming from a Universe which is linked to the current universe.

Goto the Parameters -> Links and see if it shows any universe.

Hi Rakes,

I don't have access to Universe. Is there any way to find the solution in the report level.

Oh! you are seeing grayed out at the report level. i thought you are seeing this at Universe level.

It might be because you have 2 queries in your report. Age might be coming from Query 1 and Other fields might be coming from Query 2. Edit the report -> Goto Data Access tab -> Edit Query. See how many queries you see there.

Hi Rakesh,

In webi level I have one monster universe with huge data points.

I the person how creating report on top the universe, at present there is on only one Query which is created by me. All the data point mention in the above need to show in the report.

Please suggest me, if i take age into query 2 then is it possible to achieve this results in the report.
