Dear Experts,
My client has 400 functional locations and they have created around 500 Notifications and 500 Preventive maintenance orders with these functional locations and many Notifications and maintenance orders are still open, They are not catering any kind of cost on all open and closed maintenance orders. It is also noted that Funds Management is also activated on maintenance orders. Now, client wants to upload new functional locations with new structure indicator and uninstall the existing Equipment from existing Functional locations and assign them to the new.
Based on above scenario, please reply for the below.
1- What is the best practice to do this activity ?
2- Can we map this requirement by keeping all transaction data (All open and closed Notification and Orders) remain as it is in the system ?
3- If I should delete all functional locations, Notifications and Orders, so what would be state of all these data and deletion sequence and steps ?

1. You'd not get Best practice, because this is very rare situation. You have to derive your own best practice.
2. You can transfer Equipments from the previous Structure to the new. I do not think there will be any problem for the Notifications or Orders created on these OR to those created on the Functional locations of the previous structure.
3. Deleting of master data and transaction data have p[rocedures of first setting DLFL anf then archiving running respective programs meant for them.

Thanks alot for your response. Few confusions upon your reply.
- Should I create new structure indicator, create new functional locations and install existing equipment on them OR should I use alternate labelling?
- If I will remain with all data (master and transaction) in the system, notification and orders will remain as it is, whether I create new functional locations and install equipment on them, the old transaction data will remain same and change by new functional locations ?

I checked the whole scenario on development client EHP 7, system is changing the historical transaction data (Notification and Orders) by new alternate label of functional.
- Can I protect my historical transaction data from new alternate label and can create new transaction data with alternate label functional location ?
- If i created alternate label, can I use again the old functional locations which was created without labeling system ?
