SLD Transport Paths - No Targets

Former Member

Hi

I've inherited a PI 7.3 landscape with the normal 3 tier environment - DEV, QA and PRD. Each have their own SLD.

The business systems in each SLD have the same name but are based on different technical systems.

My problem is that when trying to setup SLD transport paths/groups the target drop down is always empty.

So for example I have ECC business system in both DEV and QA groups with related integration servers selected. But in the DEV SLD the QA group is always empty, so i cant select a target system for it.

What could be missing here?

Regards

Riaz

Hi Riaz,

The Business system names for DEV, QA and Prod should be different to setup transport target. And all the system should be present in all three SLD

e.g.

Dev integration system - PI with Dev group

Dev ECC bus system - ECC_DEV - associated with Dev integration system and part of Dev group

QA ECC - ECC_QA - Associated with QA integration system and part of QA group

Transport target

ECC_DEV --> ECC_QA

refer the link -

Hi Harish

I agree they should be different, but whoever setup this up clearly didnt do it correctly and i'd like to fix it

Why am i unable to see any business systems in the QA group when trying to select a target in the DEV SLD tho? Surely it would show me a list of the business systems which are in the QA group and have the related integration server set to XIQ?

My question is why does the DEV SLD not see any targets in the QA at all but they correctly defined in the QA SLD?

Thanks

Riaz

Hi Riaz,

It is happening because the same name in multiple group. So both same name can't be in source and target.

The only way is to have at least some difference in the name of BS like _D for dev and _Q for qa or any slight difference in the name.

Hi Vikas

I'll try to give an example of what i'm asking.

In the DEV SLD there is a business system called ABC, linked to the DEV group. In the QA SLD there is a business system called DEF in the QA group.

If i wanted to make DEF the transport target of ABC in the DEV SLD surely it would appear in the dropdown for the QA targets because the BS names are different right?

This is not happening at all, the DEV SLD has nothing in its QA transport target group.

-->> Please check if the QA group and Business system is available in Dev SLD. If those are available in Dev SLD then you can see the QA system in QA group and add them in transport trarget.

would you want to do the grouping in dev?

you have to do the grouping in Qa and prod

QA system : Dev Business Sysem -->QA business system.

grouping should be done in target system where you need to import. DEV,QA,PROD landscape, groups should be mapping in QA,PROD.

it is not required to do it in DEV.

if you still want it in DEV, import the QA TS into DEV, create BS. import QA PI integration engine TS into DEV sld. create Integration_Engine_java_PIQ.
