Group Asset

Hi Guru’s

We are facing a situation where after creating a group asset, system is stopping us from assigning value to it using F-90.

Since we are not sure about the transaction type to be used so we tried with 100.

We are stuck here hence I request you to guide us to resolve the issue.

You cannot use group assets for direct posting. This asset will get posting when you post transactions to main asset.

    • Hi,

Check the screen layout assigned for the dep.area 15 for the asset class in OAYZ? After that, check the group asset field status for the screen layout in AO21. At the time of creating asset master, you have to maintain the group asset for the dep.area 15. After that we you do acquisition posting for the asset, then the system will post acquisition for all dep.areas of the asset. So it automatically posts to group asset.

Can you post any error message or the selection data entered? A screen pic would help.

Below is the error message encountered while assigning value to a group asset with t/c F-90 & T Typ 100.

Asset is a group asset: posting with transaction type not allowed

      Message no. AK007

The asset XXX that is to be posted is defined as a group asset. Therefore only write-ups and depreciation can be posted directly to this asset.

Check the asset and transaction type 100.

The field Group asset is grayed out in the depreciation area though it is set to optional in AO21. The check-boxes for Mnno, Sbno, and Copy in AO21 is also selected for Group asset. This is stopping me from using the group asset field.

I seek your help to resolve the above issues.
