Activation of BC leads to opening Development client?

Hello Experts,

This is the first time I am activating BC datasources, infosource, cube for LO in sandbox.

While doing so when I tried to activate the Update rule also from BC after a while of compiling it opened up Development client and showed compiling in the process bar.

I just stopped the actoin and terminated the process. I am not sure, why this happens, and does this effect any objects in Development , as all I am doing is activating the objects in Sandbox and trying to do a wing to wing extraction using all BC standards.

Please suggest.
