I think it's not, You can upload it to IT2003 with custom upload program.

Thanks Sankarsan. That's exactly what we do currently and our clients want to change that due to excel sheets work overhead.

I checked all the Time management implementation nodes too and couldn't find anything. It's a bit odd that SAP has not developed any standard soltuion here as employee roster is such a critical aspect of time management in various organisations.

Appreciate your reply.

Roster in the sense of Shift Planning in the SAP. Since if employee's DWS is keep changing then time administrator will change it through Shift Planning.

So, is changing of shifts from shift planning is the same as doing it via PTMW?

What type of rosters are required for your org'n?  Have you checked Shift Planning?  It is used where a work center requires a particular set of skills/levels and numbers.

I don't have knowledge on PTMW.

Yes through Shift Planning is doing the planning of employee's DWS in simple terminology.

Hi Jagan,

Thaks for your reply.

The rosters are required to allocated diffrent shift patterns to the feild engineers in our company. These engineers are assinged to Work centres already and depending on the number of jobs our client wants to attract for a particualrt month/week/day for a certain area, these resources are moved across the diffrent work centres through a custom program.

Can you please explain what do you mean by "what type of Rosters"? I had a look at shift planning but I'm getting the feeling I should look at it more carefully.

Cheers,

Sidd

I'd suggest you study in detail Shift Planning and PTMW.

PTMW is for Time admin's use, to use a profile and enter for a number of selected pers.no's and for a period.  When you first go to the transaction, it shows an initial screen, where you select/enter Profile, Definition set/subset.  Then from next time onwards, these details are used.   Select pernr's and enter data re: attendance, OT, leave, etc.  There are already some definitions provided by SAP.  When you save the data for employee/s, the data is converted to infotypes 2001, 2002, etc.

In SPRO - Time Mgt- Time manager's work place, there are a no.of config steps. Each step has a good

amount of hyper text to help you.

I would suggest you to go with Shift Planning. Since by this you can able to view the employee's strength based upon the Organization Unit wise and you can change the employee's dws on day basis. It's totally screen level entry like a excel sheet view and also user can able to visualize other employee's dws , compare and design Shift planning to all employee's across the Organization Unit.
