Dear experts,
Being new to the PS module I have a request to create a dummy WBS Element for each of the company codes in the system. The purpose of this is to allocate in the Purchase Requisition and later on, during the approval process, another responsible to allocate to the real WBS Element.
What I want from this Dummy WBS Element is to allow assignment but not permit final release of the Purchase Request using the dummy allocation...this way we should prevent postings by mistake and future reclassification.
Is there a way to block it from PS or should I revert my question on the MM forum?
Thanks in advance,
You can also not maintain the operative indicators for the dummy element by Default of a Project template and this can be controlled by user Status as Ken Melching just mentioned.

There are many different ways of doing what you want. One way is to use a User Status on the Dummy WBS that allows PR's but not PO's. This will prevent PO's from being created against the WBS even if the PR is fully released.
The WBS doesn't usually control the PR release strategy. You would need to implement a user exit to have the release strategy check the WBS.
