Good evening.
I am facing a strange situation regarding MRP: it shows different behavior when background than of when running foreground. To be more specific:
MRP runs at plant 2900. There is a Production Order for the finished material. When MRP runs in background (transaction MDBT, variant 2900,
image 1) it does not plan all BOM materials (material 120800323 for example, image 2). But, when I run MRP from withing MD04 (MD02) procurement proposals are created (material 120070748 for example, image 3).
Has anyone of you come across this??? Any suggestions????
Thank you very much,
Nikos Giannopoulos

Hello
did you check if the planning file entry exists for this material on MD21?
ON MDBT, a material will be only planned if the planning file exists and the flags Netch or Netpl are set. On MD02, however, the planning file in not considered.
You can also check if there is any error on MD05.

Dear Nikos,
Caetano has already cleared the issue. To add on that, whenever you schedule using MDBT, it's better to have one run with NEUPL as Processing key for the first time. Later on, you can change it to NETCH and it will auto-run as desired.
The difference is that,
NETCH : Planning will be done for materials, for which Planning file Entry is there
NEUPL : Planing will be done for all materials, irrespective of the planning file entry. This will make an entry to planning file too.
So, the first run with NEUPL will give the necessary planning file entry. Then subsequent MDBT schedule with NETCH will run as desired.
Thanks
Prem
Hi Nikos,
I am not sure what you are trying to say but looking at screen shot seems both materials are getting planned.
Can you please check the where used list CS15 for material 120136907 and see if this is in BOM of FG other than T15A14080.
If it is just in one BOM then looks OK to me.
Thanks
kishan
