Migrating Application server to SAP Hana Box

Hello,

My question is if we can migrate Application Server to a Hana server. If so, what are the tools which can be used in this process. I heard about database Migration tools(DMO in SUM1.0). But nothing related to App server move.

Hi Gulam,

You can use method copying the primary application server instance only mentioned in system copy guide.

Thanks Ning for your response. The blog helped me a lot in understanding this posiiblity.

So If I have Application server and db server on one appliance. And I want to go to HANA appliance. Should i move App server First or DB server or both can be move together.

Hello Gulam,

If my understanding is right, now your DB is not HANA?

If this is the case, you have to upgrade your SAP EPP/BW... to version required by HANA (use one step method DMO) firstly. However, the PAS is not migrated. You need to migrate AP later.
