Closing notification in PM with OSTS

My user wants to close the notification irrespective of OSTS.
How can be this achieved?

We're using the task pane to procure our spares but ideally the machine would have been repaired with the available spare inventory. We're using the tasks pane as it would give us a visibility.

If this is not advised please let me know a way where user can streamline the spare requirements.

When I enter tasks and then I try to mark it as COmplete, it displays and error and below is the status display of the error message. I am trying to delink the process as we use 'Tasks' to order spares for the machines but we ideally the machine would have been fixed up and running with the inventory.

Or If this not the way I am supposed to do please let me know how other organizations keep track on the spares replaced against the machine and ordering and closing of replacement spare against the machinery which it was consumed/replaced.

• The first part is obviously not possible.
• You may think of having the List of spares in other tabs such as Objects OR Activities.
• If there is no requirement of line item wise retrieving, you may think of using the Notification Longtext to have this information.
