hi all, my user needs some kind of functionality in which the delivery date in PO gets reset up on final release of PO. or is there any way where delivery date in PO gets reset on LC opening date. please advice.

Hi Namrah,
Kindly find below message for your interim relief:
Manual maintenance of data for planned delivery time can be classified in the system:
1 . At vendor level
2. At Material level
3. At purchasing info record level
Kindly note:
1. By changing the planned delivery time will affect your procurement process.
2. System always calculates the planned delivery time in calendar days not working days.
For Planned Delivery Time Calculation:
Using T_Code: WPDTC (Planned Delivery Time Calculation) - > Click 'expand' the tool bar.
Menu path: SAP Menu->Logistics->Materials Management->Purchasing->Master Data->Planned Delivery Time Calculation
1. Calculate the planned delivery time:
To calculate the planned delivery time, the system pick ups the no.of days between the order being placed with the vendor and actual goods receipt for the combination of vendor, plant, material, purchasing organization and vendor subrange.
2. Change the date of the planned delivery time:
To keep manually maintained planned delivery time or replace it with the calculated planned delivery time. you can decide for each individual value in the master data for the vendor, material and purchasing info record.

Vivek

Reset to what date?
Reset based on what info?
this can't be any standard and not best practice either, it would screw up planning and the reliability, and add a lot work to those who have made their mind before creating the requisition and expect the delivery on their desired date.
Delays because of approval activities have to covered the the purchasing processing time

and in which field do you have the LC opening date to enable a Z-program to know where it has to start?
this "P. deliv.time" field is the planned delivery time like it is in the material master. When the requisition is created then this time from material master is used to determine the delivery date. and in your case you want turn this upside down and redetermine the delivery date because the buyers are always late.
Hello ,
from where you will get the LC opening date??
or you need 30 days from the final release?
if there is delay in releasing the Po then delay in delivery date which will surely screw up planning and may cause in material shortage in production.
this is not a good practice and the time for complete release should consider in the planed tim only.
Similar Question was asked by someone last week too.
thanks
