Display record even no data found

Hi experts,

I have a requirement where I need to display a line of record even though there is no data found. Scenario as below:

Let's say the existing report I have the following records:

Company Product Serial no Year of manufacture A ABC A12345 2013 B XXX B12345 2014 B YYY B99999 2015

Now, the requirement if to filter out product ABC. So, after filter, the result will be as below:

Company Product Serial no Year of manufacture B XXX B12345 2014 B YYY B99999

2015

When the user put selection option for company with value A and B, the result from the table above will be displayed. But the user would like something as follow to be displayed in the report. They want to see company A record even though the product is blank.

Company Product Serial no Year of manufacture A B XXX B12345 2014 B YYY B99999 2015

Is this possible to be done?

Thank you.

    Hi Dione,

go to the extended properties of company in query designer

chosse to show master data instead of booked values.

it will not look exactly as you have it in your table, but it will be the only way to show company A when you donĀ“t have data records.

    regards

    Cornelia

    Hi Dione

To understand better, would you please answer me this.

When a user gives A and B in the company code variable, the result will be your first table if a material is present.

For the same selections, if there is a blank material with no serial number and year, you are expecting to see a blank data like your third table.

If am correct, would you please show the data (sample) in cube level on whether there is an entry for blank material or not

If am wrong, please point where am wrong and lets go further

    Regards

    Karthik

    Hi Dione,

If at all the cube has the data of zeros against company A, please use the property "Do Not Suppress Zeros" in the "Properties" option of bex designer.

    Thanks,

    Krishna

    Hi Dione,

As far as I understand the issue you want to filter out the product ABC but still need to see that row with product as blank.

This in itself is a contradicting statement.

I am not sure eif you can achieve this in BEx.

If the condition is just for ABC perhaps you need to handle it in your underlying dataprovider and populate it using the required condition.

Thus you will have blank values in your data provider and thereby make use of 0 suppresion property in BEx to achieve the requirement.

    Regards,

    Amit
