Passing top 10 dimension values to a chart

Dear Experts,

I am working with DS 1.5. I have a dimension list associate with multiple measures (A score, B score, A amount, B amount etc).

I need to create chart for every combination of my dimensions with each of the measure.

I need Top 10 values of the dimension to be displayed in the chart.

in my research I found out that DS does not support ranking. Neither in initial view nor in the chart properties. But the posts i found were older than a year.

I want to recheck if ranking is possible with DS?

Is there a straight forward way to do this with DS 1.5?

Or do i have to work on my HANA view to achieve this.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks,

Bhushan

HI Bhushan,

I think is still not possible in DS1.5 natively, while it may be in DS1.6.

Besides doing top N in HANA view, either by passing an input parameter or by filtering beforehand, you can try .

Best regards,

Alfred

Thanks Tammy and Alfred,

DS 1.6 looks promising, specially the chart types and new features.

We might get the same insight in TechEd Banglore. Hoping for best..

When can we expect 1.6 release, it will make life more easier.

Thank you,

Bhushan

Planned for this year which means later this month or next month - subject to change of course.

Ranking is not out of the box for DS 1.5

At SAP TechEd Las Vegas we learned it is planned for 1.6

In the meantime please see Jim Rapp's response on how to achieve this in HANA here:
