unable to install license.. ECC 5.0 webas 640 SAP KERNEL 640

Hi Exxperts,

ECC 5.0 (webas 640)

SAP KERNEL - 640

Windows, MSSQL

while login into system, we are getting error as 'Logon not possible(error in license check).

We got the digital license file from SAP which is having more than 24 characters for KEY.

We are able to login into system with SAP* account, but unable to delete the license.

While trying to install the lcense, screen pop is coming like to enter the key manually ( it is not asking to upload the file)

we tried to install from OS level by giving the file path, but it is giving error as data in file is incomplete(143/175).

Can you please help us to install the digital license from SLICENSE T-code or Slicense -install OS command.

As it is production system, we have raised OSS message, but still waiting for SAP support.

Best Regards,

Vamshi.

Hi Vamsi,

First thing first: Check if you have downloaded the right license from service market place.

Check the hardware key while downloading the license should match with OS.

Second: Use below commands to install the license

SAP level:

install license using Slicense t-code.

OS level:

1.

Installing SAP license at OS level using saplicense command:

$ saplicense <options>

Where options are…

-delete: Delete installed license

-get: Determine the Hardware Key

-help [option]: Display help for selected option ( get, install, temp, show or test).

-install [ifile=<filename>]: Install the SAP License.

The optional parameter ifile=<filename> (or IFILE=<filename>) can be used to import the license data from the installation file.

-number NAME=<SID>: Output installation number

-show: Display all installed licenses

-temp: Install a Temporary SAP License

-test pf=<profile>: Test whether a valid SAP license is installed (SAP System must be started)

-version: Display version number of the saplicense program

2.

Installing SAP license at OS level using saplikey command:

$ saplikey pf=<profile> -install <License_File_Location>

Other options with saplikey are…

-delete: Delete installed license key.

-get/-number: Display hardware key (Execute the command in central instance).

-help: Full list of saplikey command options.

-install: Install license key. Use parameter -install <file-name> to read from the license key file.

-show: Show all installed license keys.

-temp: Install a temporary license key

-version: Display the saplikey version.

Hi Vamshi

1. You can logon to user id SAP* and then apply the new license.

2. You can refer the SAP KBA 1512766 for the error message "Logon not possible(error in license check)"

Hello,

At the SLICENSE transaction, is there a "new licenses" button at the top of the screen?

If yes, click that button. The next screen will show the option to upload the license file.

Hello Vamshi,

Is it possible to provide screenshots of error while deleting license at SAP level?

Thanks.
