Extracting data from Microsoft SSRS Cubes into SAP BW

Hi Experts ,

I have a requirement where I need to extract data from Microsoft SSAS Cubes into SAP BW .

Scenario:

Data present in the SQL server database is used by the MS - SSAS (Analysis Service) and after many calculations and formula implementations, it is coming to MS- SSAS cubes from where  reports are generated .

Now my requirement is to extract data from these MS-SSAS cubes into SAP BW .

can anyone guide on how can I do that . How the connections will be maintained on both sides . It would be great if anyone can give any step-by-step document for the same .

Hi Samir,

It is possible in SAP BW.

You need to use DB Connect and setup a connection with SSAS data base.

Thanks for the reply . But the link above describes how we can connect to the SQL server database and by doing this we can only extract data from flat tables .

In my case the flat table data is being used by the SSAS (Microsoft Analysis Services) and then it is being stored in SSAS cubes . I want to extract the data from the final SSAS cubes into BW .

Any pointer how can I achieve this .

It is just to give idea on how to establish 3rd party connection with DB.

We have many options in BW to extract data from other data bases

Via APD

Via BODS

Hi Kumar ,

The link you have suggested gives the idea on how to load data into MS analysis service cubes from SAP BW . Whereas my requirement is exactly the opposite . I want to load data into SAP BW from MS analysis service cubes .

Also DB connect will not help as it can only extract data from flat data base tables where as my requirement here is to extract data from multidimensional MS analysis service cubes .

Any pointers ..
