Hi Rishi,

You can not analyse the ATP logic in MD04.

Check in CO09.

In MD04 you see your requirements (in your case are ORDRES) sort by date. So you see how the stock will be consumed according to the dates of your orders.

The problem is that is not the logic used for the ATP. You can have an order with a date in Dec that is "reserving" stock and maybe you have an order in Nov without available stock. For example, if you create the order for December before the order for November, then could happen that the first order "reserve" the stock.. so the ATP is "reserved".

To avoid this situation you can release your ATP and run it again. This can be done massively in COHV or COHVPI.

Hi Mariano,

Thanks for your response. Yes i get your point.

Below is the CO09 screen shot of the component-(slightly differernt today with stock = 5)

1. I see that the Receipts i.e Shipping notifications on 11/04 is not considered. In this case only the stock is considered and committed.

I see that the indicator is not tick for ShpNt in Checking Group. Is this the reason ?

2. Why does the PP checking rule not take in to effect, the possible Receipts like ShpNt/Prod ord / Pld ords etc. It does not give a true picture of Missing part situation.

thanks

Rishi,

Yes.

Why does the PP checking rule not take in to effect, the possible Receipts like ShpNt/Prod ord / Pld ords etc.

Because you have not configured it to do so.  These settings commonly differ from system to system, and from company to company. They can be changed via  OPJJ.

...It does not give a true picture of Missing part situation.

Well, that is an opinion, which evidently was not shared by the person who created these settings in your system; or else he was not even concerned about such matters.

There are no 'right' or 'wrong' settings for OPJJ.  The only concept is that they should meet business requirements.  I suggest you find out why these settings were chosen IN YOUR SYSTEM before you elect to change them.

Hi Rishi,

As was mentioned by DB49, what you see is the result of your customising.

If this is not the right picture for you, and you want to consider this kind of MRP element in the calculation of your available stock, then change the customising according to your needs.

Now looking at your screenshot of CO09, I think that you should review your process, since you have orders from Nov 23rd being confirmed before orders from Nov 4th. Review if you need to reset your ATP and regenerate the ATP massivelly. This can be done in COHV (or COHVPI for PP-PI).
