Hi Kim,

Learning SAP is not an easy task and I am wondering if we can really master the whole SAP at one point.  A combination of studying theory, practicing and facing real life issues is what will build your knowledge of SAP.

If you can practice the theory into a sandbox, it is what will help you to understand how the functionalities are designed.  The tactic of "changing a parameter", "do a transaction", "check the effect" has worked for me so far.

Real life cases are important because sometimes, the end users use the system in a way we would never have imagined before.  More opportunities to learn here.

These discussions you can find on this web site will contains very valuable information about a specific subject.  Googling on a specific subject can make you find interesting documents too.

perseverance, it takes time

Hi Kim,

The first tip i can give you is help.sap.com

Plant Maintenance (PM) - SAP Library

You need to have IDES server, then it will be bit easy to demonstrate the scenario using that.

Kim,

This forum is more about specific questions, not open ended questions like yours..

There are quite a few Plant Maintenance books around. Search this forum as they have been covered quite a few times.

You could also attend the PLM300 Plant Maintenance Overview course.

Hi Pete,

lately ive been working on the Notifications function.

Supervisors enter notifications for work to be done by maintenance, ive been trying to find a work flow overview for this but cant seem to find it.

Looking for the best wat to keep track and notify on progress and completion ect.
