Create a input parameter that equals to a measure

Hi i have 2 Dimension code, name and  3 Measures ..Sales ,gross margin, gross margin % where gross margin % is the CALCULATED COLUMN (GROSS MARGIN/SALES). The requirement is i have to create an input parameter on gross margin % so that i can retrieve values greater or equal to it.. Is this requirement feasable in HANA?

Hello Tanush,

yes, you can apply a filter on a calculated column using an input parameter.

You just have to consider the possible performance issues, in case of a big amount of data records, because before the filter can be evaluated the calculation has to be done for each record.

Florian

Why you create an additional calculated column instead of applying a filter expression on your existing calculated column (Filter Output of Aggregation or Projection View Nodes - SAP HANA Developer Guide for SAP HANA Studio...)?
