Production Order Without Material Number

My customer requires some samples for evaluation but the finished goods is not yet registered in SAP as it is still under R&D and subject to changes.

So there is no material number nor BOM maintained yet.

Is it possible to create a production order for this finished goods in SAP since it has no material number?

HI,

Use T-code Co07 and in the initial screen place you Sales Order no. (if required) and proceed.

Here you can add BOM manually in Component view and routing also. In settlement rule specify you sales docs no.

I tried to create with CO07 and was asked for a reference operation set which does not exist in the system. So I created one with CA11 but when I tried to select it, I got an error saying 'Ref. operation set 3 is not valid according to the selection conditions'.

And followed by 'No default value maintained for op. generation for order type YB01 (mat )'

How can I add the routing manually?

You cannot add the routing manually.

You have to review your selection conditions in order type. This question cannot be answered as we don't have access to your system and can review the selection conditions.

OPJF and than assign in order type OPL8

As an order need to have at least 1 operation the system try first the routing based on the selection conditions, as nothing valid is found it check if you define default values for generated operation. As you didn't have this also it didn't allow to create order.

Review the selection conditions in order type and make sure the reference operation set is fitting this, or simply add the default values for generated operation. Than you will have a default operation in order. Customizing for this is OPJG
