Browser freezes when viewing incoming e-mails

We've configured the ITSM scenario with ERMS for creating incidents from e-mails according to the wiki page. The e-mail is created correctly. We can also create an incident from the e-mail, and from the incident, we can create an e-mail as follow-up.

Unfortunately, whenever the user opens the original e-mail by clicking the link in the Web UI Inbound Email Inbox (above), the browser freezes and becomes nonresponsive (below), after which we can only close the browser from Windows Task Manager. We've tried IE11 compatibility mode and Chrome, too.

We've tried both with an e-mail profile that uses Outlook for Groupware Addr. and one that does not.

We're on SolMan 7.1 and using IE11 on a Win 8.1 workstation. According to PAM, the browser should be supported.

Of course, there may be some configuration missing, but still I think the browser shouldn't freeze under any circumstances.


Any guesses as to why the browser constantly freezes when the e-mail is opened?

    We discovered that IE11 works flawlessly in Enterprise Mode. Also Opera works fine.

    We raised an SAP incident about the issue. SAP's reply was simply 'please check browser settings and compatibility' 😔

    Don't think the matter's fully settled yet, but at least we can manage.
