Assigning Characteristic to all equipment class

Hi All

I have a characteristic to assign to all equipment classes. What I mean by all equipment classes is a list of some 100 equipment classes. is there a way to just do one assignment for all equipment. If I do one by one it will be way to out of requirements.

Hello Daniel,

I understand your requirement as:'You want to assign one characteristic to all 100 classes at one stroke'

If this is your requirement the best way is to do it by LSMW . Though other methods like IBIP are available, it will be misleading if I talk about them for this simple requirement. When it is the case of you want to Assign Class and Characteristics values also alongwith Classes to 1000s of Equipments then IBIP tool OR BDC program developed by your ABAPer will be useful.

If you haven't learnt the LSMW please learn. It is not difficult. It will be useful for several such mass updates.

Hi,

Use Tcode CLMM

Assign value in matrix - Select class and update characteristic.

Or simple LSMW with recording will solve your purpose.
