I'm trying to connect an ABAP system to the SLD on a NW 7.4 Java-only PI system.
I have maintained sldapicust and testing there is okay.
In rz70 I enter the Gateway Host and Gateway Port that I can see in the SLD at Administration -> Details -> Data Suppliers.
Starting the data collection in rz70 results in an error:
Used RFC destination: SLD_UC
RFC call failed: Error when opening an RFC connection
Testing SLD_UC in sm59 also results in the error
Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT', communication r
The same error is also occurring in rz70 / SLD_UC in another ABAP system that has existed for a longer time and where the connection to the sld works fine according to SLDCHECK. This may have started after applying an SP to the NW 7.4 PI system with the SLD, not sure.
Any ideas?

Hi Monika,
For the RFC destination SLD_UC in the ABAP system, please check if it uses type "Registered Server Program", program ID specified there is SLD_UC and if the gateway host and service correspond to those running on the Central Services Instance of your PI system (generally speaking, of the system hosting SLD).
If this is already in place and the RFC destination still doesn't work, can you please provide details of the RFC connectivity test error message that you get in tx. SM59?
Regards,
Vadim
