hi,
could you kindly see below scanario .
i have to set up Activity rate in KP26 per cost center for 2016.
but i really don't know what is the activity rate( average fixed Price) in KP26.
as per my previous year experience, if we havn't set up the rate in KP26, we can't create PM work order . Please tell me why is important and how they work.
( we are using SAP ERP R/3 , repetative manufacturing .

If you have setup activity types and linked to work center, then you need to maintain planned price to establish relatioship between cost center and activity type.
for this purpose, you can initially maintain 0.01 price in KP26 to ensure that master data creation and later you can update the right price.
this price will be taken and charged to PM order for activity confirmation.-Santosh Varanasi

Every one has given you suggestion on CO perspective and which is correct to some extend...but you have to a discussion with your PM consultant to understand the PM process because basic setting will be done by them how and where they want to capture the cost of various activities for maintenance jobs.
In PM link comes from Functional location > Work Center > Cost Center > Activity linking...so
Suppose they require lab cost for maint jobs to be captured..then you have to create one Maint Lab activity and define a rate in combination with Maint CCtr and Maint Lab activity either in KP26 directly without any planning in KP06 or can make plan and then calculate price in KSPI as told by Pavan...
PM will use this activity in WC to fetch the cost of Labour

There are two ways...you can manually setup activity price in kp26.
(or)
We can calculate the activity price using the system for which we need to maintain the activity planned quantity(KP26) and we need to maintain planned expenditure for the relevant cost center(KP06)
Plan price calculation using KSPI....
We can get the results in KSBT report.

we don't have any error yet. but if we do not set up maintenance activity rate before year-end closing, the error will show.
- we have two system as Live and testing . once we do work order in testing environment, there is no error , never . Ever even nobody were set up any maintenance activity rate.
once I do quick check up Activity Type via KL03 in Testing, there is 3 or 1 in Price indicator that I found. so my thinking is that do we also need to set up like this ( Price indicator as 1 or 3) in Live system because I did not found any price indicator in Live system. please see in attachment.
