SAP IBP - Stock Consumption at different Location

Former Member

Hi ,

I would like to know the possible way or how can we setup internal stock moment in IBP.

Current Situation

There is a demand for PRD01 in both the DC locations DC1- 1000 and DC2- 1500. STOCK at DC2 is 2500. Currently when i'm running Supply planning operator, STOCK is consuming at DC2 for demand on DC2, where as for the demand in DC1, Dependent demand is generating on Manufacturing Plant.

Requirement

I want to consume stock at DC2 for the demand in DC1.  Which means it has to check weather the stock exists for PRD01 across all the DC's and consume the stock if exists.

Can any one please let me know the possibility ways to configure it in the system.

Awaiting for your response.

Thank you,

Pradeep.

Hi Pradeep,

Stock at DC2 cannot be consumed by demand at DC1 unless there is a transportation lane defined between them. You can maintain this relation in location source master data and define a quota so that demand of DC1 gets propagated to DC2.

Hi Rohit,

Thanks for response. Quota you mean, Location Transport Ratio ?

Also i want to check it vice versa. like, it the Demand is at DC1 it has to check stock at DC2 and if the Demand is at DC2 it has to check the stock at DC1.

Please let me know how to maintain Quota.

Thanks,

Pradeep.

Hi Pradeep,

Yes, by quota i mean location transport ratio.

Note that demand and supply has to flow either upstream or downstream based on your supply chain model. For this you need to specify which is receiving and supplying location among DC1 and DC2. Practically both cannot keep on sending demand to each other.

I would suggest you maintain stock at one of these location and define location source accordingly.

Or you can create another location DC3 just to maintain stock and supply to other DCs.

Thanks,

Rohit
