Is it possible to derive shared variables from multiple columns of a cross tab?

I have a main report with a cross tab as well as a crosstab in each subreport (2). Each cross tab is set up the same (but pulling from the same data set with much different criteria each time) with the column variable producing up to two different columns plus a summary column. Is it possible to derive a shared variable from all three columns? I don't need to produce another cross tab, I just need to show the totals.

What I'm looking for is:

Main report (Sale A)

                              Online               InStore      Total

Product 1

Product 2

Product 3

Subreport (Sale B)

                              Online               InStore      Total

Product 1

Product 2

Product 3

                                   40                     93           133

Subreport (Sale C)

Hi Kurt,

It is going to be extremely difficult to do this with shared variables.

The easier solution is to use a single crosstab.
