No of records are different

Dear Experts,

We have migrated the SAP BI Production System ( 7.0 ) to SAP BW 7.4 on HANA in to the SANDBOX  on 23.09.2015 with the data available till 22.09.2015.

Today I have executed one query  Sandbox & in the existing production system.

With the given below selections.

Material : Empty

Enter Month : August 2015

Calendar Day : August 31st 2015.

Post execution of this query in Sandbox & in the existing production system, the no of records are different . In Sandbox the no of records are 20,984 & in Production the no of

records are 20,975.

Please advise us to resolve this issue at the earliest, as we are unable to resume the Migration activity.

Thanks,

Suresh.

Hi Suresh

I am sure there will be a valid reason for the difference in number of records which we need to have a look. Meanwhile, rather than checking the number of records could you please validate the actual data.

I mean, would you be able to compare the keyfigures. If there is a difference still, then you could narrow down the comparison based on some fields, say customer or material.

With this, you will know what is exactly missing

Karthik

Hi Suresh,

Also check whether compression has happened in any of the system.

I have experienced this in the past , Since there is a difference in the data base the number of records(Count) in the cube may not match at times but the keyfigures sums up correctly.

Hi Suresh,

The difference in the count is just 9.

It can happen due to a number of reasons.

Can you take a dump of both in excel file and do a vlook-up to identify the records and then check your underlying data-providers/ECC for inconsistency.

Hi Suresh,

Could you check whether the data in backend is also behaving the same way ?

Could you run it  and check the record count and also the keyfigure values
