Hi
FI Document number 0AC_DOC_NO does not have any master table or text table as it is just storing the number. Therefore no SIDS exists. Now when i insert this in a cube, will it be a good idea to mark the dimension as line item. Will it make any sense as the data load performance is affected when creating SID's. What will happen in this case. Will marking it as line item still save time on creating DIM ids.
Thanks
Hi Tom,
If you mark it as line item it will definitely save time both in loading as well as reporting.
There won't be any dimension table created and as a result the DIM id's will no longer be a hindrance.

Amit

Hi,
As this is only 0AC_DOC_NO ( document number) and no relation making it line item dimension make sense. Performance in both load and reporting point of view.
Thanks.

Hi,
Usually in a Cube Design, if only one characteristic assigned to a dimension only, we can make that dimension as a Line Item Dimension.
Thanks and Regards,
Mahesh

Certainly! as it wont create any DIM id's which increases both loading and report performance.
if your cube had data already, you can always check the dimensions size from standard program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS before making it LID.
