Running BO Reports / BI Reports directly on SOLMAN

Hi Experts!

We have a requirement of developping some Dashboards/Crystal/BW/Lumira Reports content to run directly at SOLMAN, without installing other system at the system enterprise architecture. The intention is to analyze some high level KPIs that are generated at SOLMAN and there is no more servers available for installing a new BO or BW environment.

I know that we can publish Crystal Reports on ECC and Publish Dashboards/Crystal Reports directly at BW through SAP Portal. I've also read that it is possible to have a BW with Business Content on SOLMAN, although I've never seen it and can't confirm.

Is it possible to have an system landscape that at the same SOLMAN server could be saved/published some BI reports for high level SOLMAN KPI?

Does SOLMAN have SAP Portal integrated like BW/ECC?

Hi Maruicio,

BW content in Solution Manager is nothing new and part of solman_setup configuration which is the first thing do after installation of Solution Manager.

Ofcourse based upon areas like ChaRM ITSM Tech Mon there are different jobs etc which activate specific BW cubes but yes there is a lot available from reporting perspective

means either within Solman (BW in solman)

OR

external BW connected to Solman

Yes you can also use Lumira etc to build reports based upon the areas of interest.

I understand you are also looking for high level reports or dashboard....yes we have a lot as mentioned in below link

if you are using ITSM then BW based reports can be used to meet the specific management reports using ITSM analytics

Hi Prakhar,

Thank you for the help about BW and SOLMAN_SETUP. It was the link that I haven't found before to know how to use BW at SOLMAN.

We here have a Z transaction for reporting, but the intention is to have some solution for high level reunion. This solution also has a function module to be used in a datasource, so it can be used with BW. The next step here is understanding how can we provide customized BO (or other graphical BI reports) solutions without having to install BOE. Do you know if it is possible? I know that we can use BO reports activate along with business content, but as the solution deals with a Z transaction, it should be a customized report.
