Workbook Refresh

Former Member

My users are running into problems when they refresh BEx workbooks. For some reason, the prompt that is triggered by a data refresh does not include the original selection criteria.

For example, when I first open the workbook it prompts me for fiscal period and company ID. But when I refresh the workbook, it only prompts me for fiscal period.

I'm sure this is something simple. I appreciate any help!!

hi Shelly,

try check if this helps, in xls workbook, check button 'goto' (red arrow right up ), choose properties, tab 'interaction', checkbox 'save and reuse variable values'.

and check this thread

see Deepu's comment

When refreshing a workbook in the BEx Analyzer that contains a changeable variable, this variable does not appear in the variable screen, since the values have already been set in the dynamic filter and also displayed.

Hi Shelly,

Sounds like your problem is solved for now. But, one other thing that comes to mind is Personalization of variables.

Many users Personalize variables and then promptly forget that they did so. And, they forget how to turn it off.

The way to check this is hidden under the "Change query" button (Change query >> Change variable values).

Thank you. I check the "return to global definition on refresh" and this worked!

Hi Shelly,

Is the variable for Company ID marked as Changeable with Query Navigation? Check this link for more info:
