Hello All
We currently use LP12 to stage materials to a Production Supply Area (PSA) by grouping released production order quantities.
Now we want to activate manual staging from within a production order. Therefore, staging will now be processed by individual production order rather then a group of them.
My question is, which material staging indicator should I use?
Current control cycles are set to 3 - Release Order Part
Should I now change these to 4 - Manual staging? or 1 - Pick Part?
And should I now change from LP12 to LP10 as I will be picking for individual production orders?
Thanks in advance
Darren
Hi Darren,
If you wish to pick the parts for each order separately, then use staging indicator 1 and use LP10.
If there are some components needed very frequently and can be picked by the production guys by themselves, then you can activate manual staging with indicator 4 for these select few items. The way it works is warehouse supply in bulk for the manually staged materials and the production consumes the required quantity for the order.

As you will be going to stage order wise you can use Pick list(I.e 1) control cycle for which you can stage through LP10.Also within that order if you want some materials to be stage in Bulk there you can assign Control Cycle 3 & stage those materials with LP12 as this material will not be seen in LP10.
for staging indicator which we should use and when. please have a look on the below thread
