HANA from SP5 to SP10

Hi Gurus,

My client is planning to upgrade their SAP HANA database from SP5 to SP10(latest version).

What is the procedure for that? Can we do the upgrade directly from SP5 to SP10?

For information related to update paths for SAP HANA, you can usually refer to these kind of notes :

1948334 - SAP HANA Database Update Paths for Maintenance Revisions

Referring to these notes and related ones should give you the strategy to use in order to update your release up to SPS10 rev 102.

Hi Steve,

As per 2193110 Note we can directly do the upgrade from 69.07 to 102..But I am in a doubt whether all the functionalities would work if we do a direct upgrade? or Will I go with SP6-->SP7-->SP8-->SP9--102 step by step..?

What are the other functionalities you're thinking of ?

Just to check .

The way I read it is you'll have to perform an intermediate update to level 69.07 ( from note 2193110 ) and then up to level 102  ( without other intermediate update )

from note 1948334 :

Current maintenance revision     Possible target SP or maintenance revisions

Revision 69.07                         upgrade to revision 74.01   (or any higher SP or maintenance revision)

And I forgot but, to answer your start question, you can't upgrade from SPS5 to SPS10 directly.

As stated in SAPnote 2193110, you'll at least have an intermediate update to do :

If you upgrade from a Revision prior to SPS 06, first upgrade your system to the latest SPS 06 Revision (Revision 69.07) before upgrading to this Revision.
