transport of info cube error

Former Member

Hello,

I have created a PCA report in the development system and also attempted to transport it + "everything before" to the test system. This is where the problem starts.

I used the package Z001 for my transport, but as I try to activate the included info objects alt. accessing the included info cube, I get an error message that package Z001 does not exist in the target system.

Obviously, the transport has taken place, because I can see the Z objects (own developed) I created and included in the transport. However, nothing is activated and as I try to look into the PCA inf cube I get the message that "non-active/invalid info objects exis".

Could anybody please give me a hint of how to continue here? I assume I should activate the objects in version A, but I only get to choose between "edit in version D" or "edit in version M".

How do I proceed? This is my first RSA1-transport...

BR,

Fredrik

hi Fredrik,

1. transport first the package Z001.

2. transport the 'non-active infoobjects' with your pca cube in the right panel, then choose collection mode 'manual', grouping 'only necessary objects' and execute, after objects collection finished, expand your pca cube and make sure the non-active infoobjects are there and marked. then create transport request.

thanks!!!

..or could it be a good idea to delete everything I transported in the target system and then add the correct package + restransport?

I don't think you would be able to delete evrything in the target system...is your system a closed one? You can just do a retransport and everything should be fine.

hi Fredrik,

no.. no need to delete (and you may not allow in prod system)

you can just transport the package and then bw objects.

hope this helps.

Thanks again!

The problem now seems to be that the package Z001 is assigned to someoneelses transport request and I do not wish to transport this person's settings to the target system. What if I now create a new package in SE80 and transport this first? And then I continue with the retransport of the unactive objects?

Thanks,

Fredrik

In that case you would have to chnage the package for each of the objects. Also we do not usually have multiple packages for non-Bex objects...all cubes, ODS, rules etc go with the same package through out the system.

Hi Fredrik,

First check to see if the Z001 does not exist in the target system. You can check in SE80. If not, then include it in a request with the other objects and retransport.

Hope this helps...
