Byte Code Adapter not running for particular instances

Hi ,

We have a non production Solman system R40. It is running on 4 app servers: apr4018, apr4019,apr4022 and apr4023. When I checked in Wily, the nodes SAP Netweaver is missing for the target managed host in the Introscope Investigator (Workstation or webview) only for server 18 & 22.

This cannot be due to BCA installation in managed system configuration although its showing needs to be updated.Because for other two servers nodes are showing in Wily. Can someone help me in this to fix the issue?

Thanks

Neha Singh

Hi Nena,

Please rerun the "Byte Code Adapter" activity, it will not harm the already working nodes.

The Byte Code Adapter is a Jar file that will be started with the JVM. After performing the "Byte Code Adapter Installation" activity in the managed system configuration, you have to restart each instance of the Java system to make it run. In the dev_server* files you may search for "Agent.jar" to check if it was started with it.

This wiki: Byte Code Adapter does not start - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki , shows some checks you can do if the agent cannot start.

Apart from that, it might be missing in the EM, if the EM is lacking resources and is not allowing it to connect. It does not seem like your case, but worth checking. KBA 2156320 delivers a tool which performs the relevant checks.

Regards,

Daniel
