sFIN 2.0 for Finance - Integrated Business Planning(IBP) - URL Access to IBP web?

Former Member

Dear All,

We have installed sFIN 2.0 in our company and are trying to access the IBP for Finance thru web URL. And, it is not successful. We do not even know which URL is used to access the IBP web.

Earlier, we had installed BPC 10.1 stand alone version in a separate box and there, we did not have this issue and we were able to access the BPC web thru URL.

I believe IBP for Finance is part of sFIN. I am not sure if I need to install BPC 10.1 separately! Or, Is BPC 10.1 is part of sFIN installation? Do I need to activate BPC 10.1 to use the BPC/IBP web thru URL?

Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Regards,

Peri

Hi Peri,

SAP BPC 10.1 version is embedded in SAP Hana with Embedded BW-IP.

You can access IBP using Analysis Office Tool and also through BW. You are not required install BPC separately.

Please refer to note 1972819 - Setup Integrated Business Planning for setup details.

Hi Peri,

There are some business content which you need to activate and need to do some set up before you can start using the IBM functionality. Once the set up is correct then you can access the IBP related transaction through WebDynpro like Cost center planning and again IBP is only for planning and not for consolidation. If you want to use consolidation then you still need to use BPC as a separate tool.

Thank you, Santosh.

I understand that the planning templates can be opened by Analysis Office.

However, I want to open the SAP supplied planning templates thru BPF tasks which in turn fires Analysis Office. For this to happen, I need to have access to the IBP web. This is where I am stuck - I do not know the URL to access the IBP web. IBP is more about the BW-IP. However, the planning templates can still be fired from BPF task for which, I need to access the IBP thru the browser.

I hope I am not confusing 🙂

Peri

Thank you, Vikash.

- We have installed sFIN 2.0

- Activated BI content.

- Activated the planning templates.

I understand the planning templates can be fired from WebDynpro. I believe the planning templates can also be fired thru BPF task. To access the BPF ask, I need to access the web portion of IBP. This is where I am stuck.

If we use WebDynpro to fire the Analysis Office to open the templates, we may not be able to use certain features of BPC such as BPF. I need to use this feather and I believe this is possible. Need your help to resolve this issue.

Thank you,

Peri

Hi Peri,

I am not sure what you are trying refer though web. Analysis office books can be activated using transaction RSOR from ECC.

I advise to go through set up and hope your queries will be clarified.

Also you can refer few key points to note from the below thread.

Santosh,

Let me put the question differently...

Is IBP and BPC integrated together so that IBP work books can be invoked from BPC's BPF task?

Thanks,

Peri

Hi Peri,

To be specific IBP is being replaced BPC but not integrated together. -Santosh Varanasi

Hi Peri,

Just adding on to Santosh point....IBP is only replacing the planning part of BPC and not consolidation...If you want to do consolidation then you need to do this in BPC.
