Leads - Upload and approval...

Former Member

A large volume of Leads has been uploaded to the system.  The system is configured to start all Leads in the "Open" status.  Unfortunately, for a reason unknown to us, those Leads have been uploaded and automatically moved to a status "Qualified."  This has triggered the approval process that is in place.

1.  How do we ensure that Leads stay in the "Open" status when they are created in the system?

2.  Is there a way to mass approve the Leads that have been uploaded and are awaiting approval?

Thank you.

Hello!

I don't know how leads are created in your case, do you use z-report or marketing companies or something else?

First of all I would suggest to check change history of lead - if there are rows about status change, leads where created with status "Open" and then changed. If there are no rows about such changes, status was changed during creation - check creation method. Also I would recommend to check whether your lead has actions - some of them could change statuses.

About mass upgrade of status of leads, I don't know standard way to do it. (transaction MASS is only for sales orders and there is no functionality on WebUI to mass change user statuses of leads). So I think you should write simple ABAP report to do it.

In this specific case, the Leads were uploaded into the system via the migration template and wizard.  In the .xml template provided, we specifically noted that all Leads should be created in the "Open" status.  Upon upload, it seems that the system automatically changes the status of each Lead to "Qualified."

As far as the approvals, the change in status of the uploaded Leads by the system has triggered them ALL to enter the approval process.  There are now over 10,000 Leads that are awaiting approval.  Is there any way to approve multiple Leads at once, or must this be done one by one...?
