1 Master Data and Transaction Data Extractors. In Master data you have Texts, Attributes, and Hierarchies. SAP has delivered standard Extractors for almost all application components of SAP like SD, MM, FI and CO. If these extractors are not suitable for your business requirements then you will create your own costum extractors.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Hi azee,

There are 2 types of extraction ,

1 Application specific extractor

2.Cross Application extractor

1. Application specific extractor:

Here you will have standard SAP defined extractors like

a. Logistic extractors ( for SD , MM etc. )

b. CO-PA extractors ( for controlling and profitability)

c. FI-SL extractors (for Finance special purpose ledger)

for all these extractors SAP has already defined the function module or table which is used to extract data.

2.Cross Application Extractors :

a.Generic Extractors - We go for generic extraction when we find that there is no standard SAP datasource meeting our needs . Generic extractors are based on table/view , infoset and function module which should be created by us based on the requirement .

I hope it will be useful for you.
