How to change Inspection Lot Sampling Size once the lot is created.

Can anyone tell me how to change an Inspection Lot sampling size once the Inspection Lot is created?  Does the sampling plan have to be changed before completing the Goods Receipt on the material?  One of our plants would like to be able to increase the sampling size when receiving the same material from different suppliers.  I know this is setup in the Inspection Plan but didn't know if changing the sample size could be done once the Inspection Lot has been created.

Changing sampling size once the lot is created is not advisable though it is possible. You can very well reset it using QAC3 as mentioned above. Then modify or replace the sampling procedure assigned to MIC in inspection plan. Thereafter go to QA02 and assign the task list to the inspection lot. You will notice that the new sample size is calculated based on latest changes made.

You can create supplier wise separate plans for the same material so that when the material is received from vendor A the sample size would be 5 and if it is received from B then it would be 10!!

My question is - Whether your GR department decides which sampling procedure needs to be assigned to the lot at the time of Goods Receipt? Whether it varies dynamically?

Hi,

you can use transaction QAC3 "Cancel Sample Calculation", but if you have record results you can not cancel sample calculaiton.
