Business analytics: Error "Datasource can not be used as join member - It uses a temporal join"

Dear SCN experts,

I'm just trying to join the data source "HCMTLMB07" Employee Recorded Times with another data source for sales orders, as our customer is using time recordings for sales orders.

The customer would urgently need a report with the time recordings and some addtional Infos from the sales order. For any reason I'm not able to join the data sources because of the error message stated in the title of this post.

I also tried other data sources but it seems all data sources with time recordings are not able to be joined with others. Does anyone knows a Workaround?

Hi Horst,

I could imagine two approaches:

1. Introduce an Excel workbook that contains the relevant information in two sheets, then join the information via VLOOKUP.
   The drawback of course is that you do not directly have the report in the ByD UI.

        But: it will work!

1. Use FIN reporting (data source FINPRFU24 Sales Ledger Line Items, Report e.g. Sales Document - Line items in Cost and Revenue Work Center.

        Challenges:

• Bring employees into FIN. You should try out fine-tuning option "Account assignment types" and make employee an optional field for sales orders. No idea if that works! It did for projects....
• Service provisioning date not exactly availalble: Proposed posting date is the field I would look for.
