Storage bucket profile

Hi Experts,

Am trying to extend the storage bucket profile horizon since ours is only maintained until 2015 . However, I cannot extend the horizon end date. Tried to ask basis coz it might be an authorization issue but its not as I currently have sap all in our dev and quality system. Same issue is occurring in all environments. Maybe a sap note perhaps? Or configuration missed.

Grateful in advance for your help. Sincerely,

Ria

Hi All,

This SAP Note 1897510 - Storage Bucket Profile settings not saved at 'Save' fixed the issue.

Thanks! Sincerely, Ria

Hi Amol,

Thanks for the link. But my issue is that the system is not allowing me to change the end date of the Horizon.

Btw, may I ask what is the impact if the storage bucket profile is not extended? Planning runs are okay but I noticed that our storage bucket profile end date is 12.30.2014

Sincerely,

Ria

Hi

You can execute transaction /n/SAPAPO/TR32, select the storage bucket profile and change the end date.

Storage bucket profile is actually defining the horizon in which data can be stored in planning area, but I have also seen that even when you have the end date of the storage bucket profile in the past, you don't normally face issues if you just keep on extending the time series. My guess is that this is a kind of bug in SAP (at least in SCM 5.0). When we got the error of "Date outside Storage Buckets Profile area", running a time series consistency check took care of the issue.

Ideally, the storage bucket profile should be kept sufficiently big. Till the time you really generate time series, you are not really using the livecache, so it's not costing you.

The time series should be extended periodically e.g. on a weekly or monthly basis. After you extend the time series, the time series consistency check should be run.

Hi Amol,

Thanks for the reply. The problem I was facing is actually extending the horizon end date. The system is not letting me. I logged an SAP incident as well regarding this.
