Can we delete and re-create an inspection plan with same group-counter combination?
We don't use change number to do any change but user has used by mistake. So every future change we have to manage using change number, which gives some extra work to master data team.
So we are thinking to delete an plan from system and re-create same group & counter combination. Not sure how to manage this.
First I tried deleting using CWBQM, but since it managed by change number we have to use change number to delete it and in this case system doesn't delete completely from the system but instead just mark deletion flag in PLKO table. Even checked QSR6 but not working.
Since change number is not part of our process we have to delete plan which were changed by CN and re-create again with same group counter. Please not business identify different material plan using it's group counter. So we can't create new group counter for same purpose.
Even I checked SAP note and google to find some helpful hint but succeed yet.
Reply appreciated.
Hi Eric,
QSR6 works if the inspection plan is not being used anywhere. If the plan was assigned to some inspection lots and if the result recording is also done, then you can not delete that plan from database. You can just set the deletion flag.
The only option that I find is to mark this plan for deletion and create newer one. Any specific business challenges for demanding the same group number ? because that's not possible!

Try to archive the inspection plan and then see if you can recreate it.
