Opportunities - Changes in Org Model

Former Member

Hi All,

We have recently made some changes in our Org model and sales organizations.

Old Situation:

- Company X

    - Sales Unit ABC (checked as sales organization)

Here the sales unit we are using is ABC. This one is defined as Sales organization as well.

We have created opportunities using this sales unit.

The opportunities would have:

- Sales unit = ABC

- Sales Organization = ABC

- Seller (company) = X

New Situation:

- Company X

    - Sales Unit 123 (checked as sales organization and company)

          - Sales Unit ABC

Here the sales unit we are using is ABC. This one not defined as sales organization anymore.

The new opportunities would have:

- Sales unit = ABC

- Sales Organization = 123

- Seller (company) = 123

Problem

Since we have changed the organizational model, all opportunities created before the change (old situation) are giving errors, such as:

- the sales unit ABC is not linked to sales organization ABC

- ...

These errors are thrown because the system is checking the old opportunities against the new organization model.

SAP has told us we should make an update on all old opportunities so that it matches the new situation.

In my opinion this is completely rubbish, business wise.

First of all, they are asking us the change historical data.

Second, the organizational model has validity dates, so it should be logical that opportunities created at a certain validity date is checking if it is correct based on the organization model of that date.

Has any of you got the same problem? Can i get your advise?

Regards,
Michael

Hello, I agree, that looks like a bug. Can you confirm that the change in the org. model has been activated? Regards, Günter Wilmer

Hello Guenter,

It is activated, because all new opportunities are taking the new organizational model into account.

Hello Michael, Thanks a lot for returning the ticket. Indeed this is a bug. Sorry, that our anaylsis took awhile.  Can you accept a correction with release 16.02? We plan to redesign the org. model completely for this release. Regards, Günter Wilmer

Dear Günter,

isn't there any possibility to solve this bug earlier, as our company is fast-moving and changing their organization regularly.

This causes a lot of issues on the opportunities.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

michael
