Hi

You should have different transportation planning point for two plants. If you have multiple plants, you should have multiple transportation planning point which you can assign here. You can't assign one transportation planning point to multiple plants.

What if we use different shipment cost types for the legs - can it be done (the key fields are TPP+shipment cost type)?

A lot of companies centralize their transportation planning activities on country or on region level. I even had a case with a single TPP for two countries and 2 company codes (we did not use the SAP standard cost calculation approach as a part of the roll-out template though).

Hi

I am not an expert in this bu in my opinion SAP has a logic that every plant should have separate TPP. This is because when a plant is changed it is logical that its TTP should also be changed as you know delivering plant in SD can be different from the plant where material was produced or kept.

As matter of fact we can use standard shipment cost calculation process but we can't post it in FI using automatic freight PO or manual freight PO determination. I don't think so system will give some error in freight cost calculation if we don't assign purchasing data. It is more related to transferring in FI but I am not sure on this because I didn't test this.

We can use different SCD types for same TTP I guess Have you checked this in assignment?

The system allowed me to configure 2 plants with different shipment cost types for the same TPP (purchasing data). I have not tested the service entry sheet part - so not sure how well it will work as end-to-end process.

I have not encountered a logic in SAP that implies each plant to be allocated to a separate TPP. In fact we had a ZLEO* table to map allowed shipping points (in most cases this was equal to plant) to TPP as a part of the consistency checks before trip release.
