Existing data in PPM

Hello Sap PPM,

We have existing Portfolio Initiatives with decision points. We want to reconfigure and delete few existing decision points in configuration.

How can we correct exiting data with new decision points?

    Hello Diana

When using the 'change process' functionality the system allows for the changing from one Initiative/Item type to another. During this step the user can choose to delete or rename existing decision points. You can possibly look into this code and create a Z*program to do this on massĀ  (unless you are ok to do this manually for each Initiative).

Take note of the following :

    1. You will have to configure a new Initiative type when switching the lifecycle (but in theory you will be able to switch back to the old Type if needed),

    2. Any existing Decision Point link to phases are lost (i.e. do you have associated cProject phases? If so the links are broken for those decision points that you delete)

    Regards

    C

      Hi C,

That is excellent analysis. I think Change Process is designed only for Initiative/Item Type not for Initiative/Item Template? Our current design is based on templates to create cProject and PS projects simultaneously.

      Any thoughts?
