SAP ASE 15.7 installation error

Hi Experts,

I am getting the error while installing the SAP ASE 15.7+SAP NW 7.4 SR2.

Phase : Prepare  Operating System  Environment

Error: Assertion failed: Resource setting max memory size is incorrect

Please help and let me know how to fix this.

Hi Cris/Ram,

I got stuck up with the error Assertion Failed : Unable to execute sql script. Please let me know how to fix this, I tried to login via isql with sa  but the password which i have given while installation is not accepting.

As for the secondary issue open a new thread, and also attached sapinst_dev.log

Please check if you are getting any errors in the ASE SID errorlog file at "/SYBASE/SID/ASE-15_0/install/SID.log".

If you see any errors in the server log, try to fix that Or Check with restarting the ASE server.

Hi Cris/Ram,

Thanks for your inputs, The issue is fixed now by setting the parameter ulimt to unlimited and the path of installation log /tmp/sapinst* has been changed to /sybase/stage.

Hi Rajendra,

If you have sap service market place user ID then log in to https://support.sap.com and go to the below location to download the SAP ASE 15.7 .

SAP Support Portal > Download Software > Databases > Database and Database Patches > SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise > Database > SAP ASE for Business suite > SYBASE ASE 15.7 FOR BU.SUITE > Installation > SAP ASE 15.7.0.136 RDBMS Linux on x86_64 64bit

Hi NArasimha,

You need to tune the Memory parameters for the Sybase ASE.

Can you provide us more details on the sybase version and OS version of your setup.

Also do refer to below scn threads and oss notes for further references.

For linux installations you need to modify /etc/sysctl.conf  file for memory parameters for OS as mentioned in earlier notes.
