I would like to play with the new entity features in SPS10 on my HCP Trial instance. I do not see a way to apply upgrades from the HCP Cockpit or from the Web IDE. How can I get the latest CDS features on my trial instance?
This is not possible by yourself. SAP steers that. At the moment there is no official timeline if and when SPS09 or SPS10 will be applied to the trial instance.
If you wanna, you can use the SAP HANA Developer Edition from SAP Cloud Appliance Library. This image can be used on AWS. For HANA you do not have to pay a licencse, but you need to pay the AWS time. At the moment there is a SPS09 version available of the HANA Developer Edition. A SPS10 version should follow until the end of the year.
The HCP trial will be upgraded automatically. As I wrote at the moment there is no official timeline announced for SPS09 or SPS10. New things are displayed in the HCP cockpit by a popup ("New things in HCP cockpit"), if you did not disable it. You can call this popup also by a button in the HCP cockpit in the right upper corner.
