Hello experts
This post is a further question from my previous post:
Here was the requirement:
We have a situation where we have 4 DCs ( DC1 to DC4) that are being sourced by one plant and the plant does not have enough capacity to service all. So we want to prioritize the demand going from DCs to Plant, DC1 has highest priority, the system has to take all of the demand from DC1 first, if there is still capacity at plant, it has to consider covering DC2, then DC3 and then DC4.
I'm trying to see if there is an option like this within CTM...there is source determination, priorities in demand special sorting but I need the opposite, we need a way to tell the system about destination priorities....can this be done? please advise.
The solution offered in the past works perfectly when we use location priority but this is a global priority. If I assign location priority at location level it is applying to all locations. Is there any option to assign this at individual product level? Such as distribution priority or procurement priority in transportation lane...I know these two priorities are used for deployment and source plant selection but I need to restrict the demand from multiple DCs to one plant based on the priority of the DC.
Any thoughts?
Hi,
You can try using "KUNNR - Location" with special sorting in Demand Prioritization. Define variants of Special sorting with your Locations( In Customers). Maintain this as the sort variant in Demand Prioritization.
Let me know if this works.
