Hi,
i try to install the "PlatinGUI740_2-20012037.JAR" on ubuntu 14.04, working into a Virtualbox 5 area.
Following Java is installed:

all installations are ending with a fatal error. I don't know why......I need your help, urgantly....thanks .

Morning, thank you all for your interest and help.
Meantime I've located the problem. The Platinum java .jar was corrupt. after downloading a new one, the install was successfully.

Here Fabian is right.Could you share sapgui.log from the location /home/fb/ & re-verify the platform as per PAM at http://sevice.sap.com/pam, on which you're trying to install the SAP GUI 7.40 java.

The error log is quite clear abou the why it is crashing: Linux-graphics.jar is missing on your system (at least it is not at /home/fb/SAP/Linux-graphics.jar.
I would check:
