Why is New Formula not appearing on Available fields for Sorting in Crystal Report

I have an existing report that  needs a new sort field. I created the formula field that the sort will be based on and saved, yet when I into Report-> Record Sort Expert  . The new formula field that I created is not on the available fields along with the existing formulas.

Cant figure out why its not appearing on the list ?

Any help is much appreciated .

Could you paste the formula please?

Formulas that use summary functions/print time functions cannot be used in the Record Sort Expert.

Hi Abhilash,

This formula call risk-tot does a calculation giving a +/- result

{ARINVT.ONHAND} - {ARINVT.NON_ALLOCATE_TOTAL}

- Sum ({@01-1}, {ARINVT.ITEMNO})

You cannot use this formula in the Sort Expert as it uses a Sum function.
